A fully funded fleet analysis for Scottish SME hauliers
Transport Scotland has opened funding for eligible operators to assess their fleet’s readiness for electric HGVs. The assessment includes: vehicles, charging, power to provide you with a roadmap to electrification. This service is fully funded by Transport Scotland for eligible fleets with the scheme covering up to £15,000 of eligible report costs.
Whats Included?
We look at your vehicles, routes and depot operations to work out what’s ready to electrify now, what infrastructure it needs, and what it costs against diesel over time providing a clear roadmap at the end, tailored to every detail of your fleet.
Applications close 15 January 2027. Apply early to allow time for eligibility checks, funding approval, data collection and analysis.
EV readiness assessment
We start with your fleet as it stands today, routes, vehicles and depot operations, to see what’s ready to go electric now. of your current vehicles, routes, mileage, payloads, duty cycles and depot dwell times.

Why do I need a fleet analysis?
A fleet analysis is your first step to quantify and create a plan, helping you make an informed decision by understanding both the operational and commercial impact of change. You set the pace rather than reacting to regulation.
Backed by Transport Scotland funding, VEV is offering eligible Scottish HGV operators a fully funded assessment of their fleet’s transition to electric vehicles.
VEV will analyse your fleet, operations and telematics data to identify where zero-emission HGVs could be introduced, the infrastructure and investment required, and a practical pathway for transitioning over time.

Eligibility
Only one application can be made for each parent company and its subsidiaries
The completed report must be provided to Transport Scotland, but reports remain confidential and commercially sensitive information will not be shared publicly
The scheme is available for logistics companies which:
Operates in Scotland with main registered office or headquarters is based in Scotland.
Operates 100 or fewer HGVs of 7.5 tonnes and above (in parent group)
Has fewer than 250 employees and annual turnover of no more than £44 million, or the balance-sheet total of no more than £38 million (parent group).
Has a UK bank account and annual accounts.
Can provide appropriate telematics and operational data.
How it works
Applications close 15 January 2027. All funded work must be completed and funding claimed by 12 March 2027. Operators should apply early, this allows for enough time for approval, data collection and completion of the analysis.
