Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve answered some of the most frequent questions to help you decide if a managed trial is right for you.
Who is the managed trial for?
Our pilot is designed for fleet operators exploring electrification but wanting to validate performance, feasibility, and infrastructure needs before committing to a full rollout.
What vehicles can we trial?
We support trials with electric HGVs, matched to your specific routes, loads, and operational demands. Our team helps select the right vehicle to demonstrate performance in your real-world conditions.
How long does the trial last?
The on-the-road trial runs for two weeks, but it’s part of a broader process. From early planning to post-trial insights and rollout support, we stay engaged to ensure the pilot drives long-term results.
Will it disrupt our operations?
We design the trial to integrate into your day-to-day operations with minimal disruption. We support your drivers, ops teams, and customers throughout to ensure it runs smoothly.
Do we need to install charging infrastructure?
No permanent infrastructure is required. All you need is a 63A commando socket — we’ll work with your team to ensure power and space are ready for the trial.
What happens after the trial?
You receive a data-backed report with operational, financial and emissions insights — plus a validated roadmap that can guide board decisions, investment planning, and rollout timelines. We don’t just end at playback — we help you move forward.
Is there a cost to the pilot?
We co-fund or subsidise trials with qualified partners. Contact us to find out if you’re eligible.
Why run a trial with VEV?
Because we connect the trial directly to your roadmap. It’s not an isolated exercise — we use real-world data to validate your plan, guide your investment decisions, and build confidence across your team. We stay hands-on throughout to ensure success.
