Accelerating the EV transition: VEV approved as an Independent Connection Provider

London, UK (7 January 2026) – VEV has been named as an Independent Connection Provider (ICP) under the National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS), further cementing its position as a leading provider of end-to-end EV solutions for UK fleet operators.

Accreditation under the scheme, which is administered by LRQA on behalf of the UK’s Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), is a key industry standard recognising competence and compliance for ICPs working on power networks.

As an Independent Connection Provider, VEV will be fully certified to design, build and connect to the electricity grid, helping to alleviate bottlenecks in the system and speed up the overall connection process for EV-related infrastructure including high powered charge points, battery storage and solar generation.

Chris O’Sullivan, VP Projects and Operations for VEV, said: “Getting a grid connection agreed is challenging enough for our customers without then having to worry about dealing with the DNO/iDNOs and councils for the design, build and connection phase.

“By becoming an ICP, we’re offering a genuine ‘one stop shop’ for all our customers’ needs – from building out their strategies for electrification through to the detailed design and delivery of high-quality solutions that enable businesses to make the switch to cleaner electric vehicles without compromising on performance, cost, or reliability.”
