Once the Funding is Gone, it’s Gone.

What Is the new Government Grant?

From the 16th of July 2025, the UK Government is offering up to £1 million in funding to help fleet operators electrify their depots. With up to £30m available, this bold move supports public and private fleets, local authorities, and non-profit organisations across the UK in fast-tracking their transition to a decarbonised future. Legislation is already in place mandating a 45% reduction in CO₂ emissions by 2030 – so, the time to submit your application is now!

The scheme closes on the 28th of November 2025, or sooner if funds are exhausted. All works must be completed by the 31st of March 2026. You can apply for as many sites as you like, just so long as they meet the eligibility criteria.

The Government will cover up to 75% of eligible costs for your depot including:

  • The purchase cost of charge points of any type or speed
  • The costs of labour and materials required for installation
  • Energisation of the charge points including civil engineering work, electrical components and electrical contractor works

Why Has This Funding Become Available?

To accelerate decarbonising road freight, the UK Government is backing zero-emission fleets through its Depot Charging Scheme. It funds up to 75% of depot charger costs where installation isn’t commercially viable and complements existing incentives for electric HGVs, enabling operators to roll out reliable, future-proof charging and vehicles together.
